Sontana Tutorial

Entering Thai

In this section we discuss how to enter Thai.

Keyboard Input

  1. When first run, Sontana is set to use an English keymap, i.e. when you type, Roman letters will appear.
  2. Switch the input keymap between English and Thai by pressing the Escape key.
  3. The status bar at the bottom of the window shows the current mode.
  4. Type as usual.
  5. The exact layout of the Thai keymap may depend on your original keymap and keyboard.

Mouse Input

In order to use Sontana on any computer without requiring a Thai keyboard you can use a virtual, or "on screen", keyboard:

Virtual Keyboard
  • From the Help menu select Virtual Keyboard.
  • Click on the virtual keyboard as you would when typing.
  • You can resize this window and even type using the physical keyboard.
