Controlling the Localisation

Sontana's GUI is English by default. This is controlled by the settings of the computer you are using. The two translation files Sontana_th.qm and Sontana_ja.qm supply the translations.

You can control the language used in the GUI by the following methods:

  • Delete/move the qm files and always run in English.
  • (Linux) use the parameter -locale with a 2 letter code indicating which locale to use; e.g. en (English), th (Thai), ja (Japanese).
  • (Windows) create a shortcut, edit the shortcut to use the -locale parameter. The following screen shots show how this can be achieved:
    1. Create a shortcut (image)
    2. Edit the shortcut properties (image)
    3. Add the -locale parameter (image)
    4. Select "Apply" then "OK" (image)
    5. (Optional) Change the name of the shortcut (image)
    6. Run Sontana using the shortcut icon (image)

My screenshots are from Vista Japanese version but the procedure is exactly the same in other languages.
